Description
Grape Varieties: Old Vines.
Compared to the UnOaked, the Black Edition are more serious and fast-moving wines, with greater structure and longevity. They are categorised as the “prêt-à-porter” of the “Pôpa” wines – due to the representativeness of the rigorous and expensive experimentation models applied to the top-of-the-range wines, offered here at a medium price level.
This wine goes well with red meats with rich, smooth flavours – some fish with structure and fat. Roasted, confit and sautéed food, with tomato, mushroom and autumn vegetable garnishes.

REVIEWS
“A novelty in the Douro, from Quinta do Pôpa, with a clean aroma marked by notes of ripe fruit and spices, a persistent palate with firm tannins involved by the fruit, good acidity, structure, balance and a personalised finish. It is a comfort wine, warm, that both accompanies snacks and conversation by the fireplace as well as meat dishes, or even a good grilled fish at the table.” Manuel Gonçalves da Silva, Visão 7
“Discreet sweetness, barrel toast, spices giving complexity to the red fruit and notes of earth and dry scrub. Firm in the mouth, with medium body, tamed tannins, fresh and integrated acidity, finish with dryness, slight bitterness.” Revista de Vinhos, Luis Antunes
